What are your rates?
For full time children, our hourly rate is $2.75 per hour for any age, with a minimum
of 40 hours per week ($110/wk). Each family will be given 5 bonus hours (per child)
each week, so 45 hours would be the same charge as 40 hours. Any hours
accumulated above the 45 will be charged the normal rate of $2.75 per hour. Bonus
hours may not be carried over from week to week. They are intended for use by parents
to off-set drive time, to allow a quick stop to the market or a quick stop for gas (without
the kids) without being penalized.
Weekly rates will never be pro-rated unless, you choose to use any of your allowed
vacation or sick days (detailed below), or the daycare is closed. If you use up all
allotted vacation and sick days, the full weekly amount is still due regardless of how
many hours were actually attended. Please keep in mind that we do not care for a large
group of children, and the stability of our income is important to our staying in business.
If my schedule allows me to accept any part-time or evening children, the rate will
be $3 per hour for day shift (and $3.50 per hour after 6pm) with a weekly minimum
to be decided at the time of enrollment. Part time children will not be eligible for the 5
bonus hours even if they exceed 40 hours during a particular week. Part time children
are also are offered only half of the sick and vacation days given to full time children.
This would be 1 sick day (8 hours) and 2.5 vacation days (20 hours). This usually isn't
a problem, as part time parents usually only pay for care that they actually use.
If there is more than one child per family enrolled, the first child is charged the full rate,
and the second child is discounted by 5%. Part time children are not eligible for this
discount.
When is payment expected?
At the time of enrollment, a deposit payment of at least one week of child care must
be made to be held as payment against your last week of enrollment and must be
submitted with your enrollment forms. This deposit payment is to ensure that we do
receive payment for our last week of services for your child/children. Unfortunately, if
you ask us to enroll your child and then change your mind (for any reason) prior to
actually beginning child care services with Munchkin Manor Daycare, this payment is
NON-refundable.
Regular payments are expected on FRIDAYS for the previous weeks care, on a
weekly or bi-weekly basis to be determined at the time of enrollment. We are happy
to work with your pay schedule, but insist that payments be made promptly and on
time. Please plan your personal budgets accordingly.
What if i forget my check book on Friday or my payment is late
for any other reason?
As much as we love what we do, Late Payments affect how we are able to run our
business and care for our family. Therefore, late payments will be charged a late
fee. Late fees start accruing on Saturday morning. There will be a charge of $10 per
day for late payments. If payment is not made after 5 days, there will be a termination of
services .
For example, if payment is made on:
Saturday-$10 +weekly fee
Sunday- $20 +weekly fee
Monday -$30 +weekly fee
Tuesday-$40 +weekly fee
Wednesday-$50+weekly fee+Termination of services
* Due to the new FIA parent reporting policy, a parent that forgets to report their hours
on time will be charged a late fee of $15. If a parent is late with the parent portion of the
bill, the late fee schedule as stated above applies, in addition if necessary.
The purpose of this policy is not to penalize parents with excessive charges, but to
encourage timely payments. We hope we never have to charge anybody a late
payment fee. Therefore, each family will be allowed one "waiver" on this policy,
after that, the policy sticks every time. :(
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept personal checks, and prefer not to handle cash for record keeping
purposes. We will charge a $35 fee for a returned check.
We also accept credit and debit cards payment via Pay Pal. This is a convenient option
for many families. This is one way to avoid late fees if the check book is forgotten on
Fridays....when you get home, just hop online and make your payment right on this
website!
Receipts will be provided only when requested. Some parents prefer to wait for the
year end statement totalling your daycare expenses.
Do you accept child care assistance payments from FIA or LTBB?
Yes, we do accept FIA and Tribal assistance payments. However, there is always a
difference between the balance due to Munchkin Manor Daycare and the amount paid
by FIA, and that difference is still owed to the daycare by the parents. Click here for
more information about our policies regarding FIA subsidized payments.
At the time of enrollment, a deposit for the first week of child care must be paid to be
held by Munchkin Manor Daycare. We will refund this payment to the parents as soon
as we receive our first payment from FIA. Also, if you are waiting on approval from FIA,
daycare expenses must be paid by the parents until you are officially approved. If
your approval is back-dated, you will receive a refund or credit from the daycare for the
amount you are entitled to after payment has been received by FIA.
Are you open for Holidays and Vacations?
Munchkin Manor Daycare will be closed on all major
holidays, as well as for personal vacation, and
professional development time.
Go to 2010 Closed Days
There are no charges for holidays or vacation days on which the daycare is closed.
Vacation, Sick, and Bereavement Policy
Each full time family will be allowed one full week of vacation time (five full days/40
hours) where they are not obligated to pay daycare fees to hold their space. We hope
you will enjoy a week spent with your family. If you choose to take additional vacation
time, you will be required to pay the weekly fee regardless of if our services are used or
not.
Each full time family will be allowed 2 sick days (16 hours) per year, per child. This
means that in the event that your child is too sick to attend daycare, you will be allowed
2 freebie days. If your child is ill for any additional days, payment will be required as
normal. (See sick & emergency page for details.) We realize this is an irritating aspect
of daycare - to have to pay even when you're not using it, but please keep in mind we
are a fully functional business with daily expenses. We need our weekly fees in order
to successfully run the daycare. The sick/absent days start on Jan. 1 and end Dec. 31.
Part time children are offered only half of the sick and vacation days given to full time
children. This would be 1 sick day (8 hours) and 2.5 vacation days (20 hours). This
usually isn't a problem, as part time parents usually only pay for care that they actually
use.
Each full time and part time family will also be allowed up to 2 free days of care, per
year per child if there is a death in the immediate family (Parent, sibling, spouse,
grandparent, child). These bereavement days are intended to help your family mourn
during a difficult time without having to worry about daycare expenses. Any additional
free days for this reason would be purely discretionary on the part of the provider.
Back up Child Care Policy
All Families need back-up care arrangements. It is our intention to be open every
business day excluding 2010 Closed Days, however we never know when an
emergency or unexpected tragedy may take place. In the event of an emergency, every
attempt will be made to find replacement staff. If the daycare must be closed each
parent will be notified at the soonest possible opportunity. Also, keep in mind, that per
state regulations, the daycare is required to close in the event of an electrical
power outage. There is seldom advanced notice in this instance. If the daycare is
forced to close due to a power outage, only half of the normal rate will be charged
for the time period of the closure. Since there is no way to plan for this, we felt that
splitting the expense between the daycare and the parents is the only fair way to
handle a power outage closure.
Munchkin Manor Daycare owners, Chad and Sindye Alexander, will also take a full
week of family vacation time each year. During this week the daycare will be closed,
and back up child care arrangements will need to be made for your child. FOR 2010,
OUR VACATION DATES ARE AUGUST 2-6th. Click here for other days the daycare will
be closed.
In the case of a Provider Illness, the daycare will remain open, and alternate staff will
be called in to help.
